Weight LossHere’s the quick lowdown on how to have your best body. First, fat cells are created by spikes in insulin, not by calories or anything else. That said, high glycemic carbs (bleached, stripped of fiber) are your enemy. Carbs in their natural state convert to sugar slowly, over hours, which is ideal. Carbohydrates stripped of their fiber convert to sugar in minutes initiating a significant insulin response—counter-productive to our end line objective. Again, to be clear, fat cells are not created by calories.

Next… EFA’s (essential fatty acids) are critical to weight loss by green lighting the brain that it is safe to burn stored body fat as an energy source (fat has always been stored as a survival mechanism). All the biology of this is detailed in my book, ‘The Truth; Claiming Your Birthright to Health’ but suffice to say that coconut oil, fish oil and others are critical to end line objective of burning up stored fat as energy.

Next… the way you train, most notably interval training that initiates heart rate spikes, plays into the genetic makeup and memory of how we’re made and is the way the brain (hypothalamus/pituitary) resets the metabolic thermostat—this is a fat burning state. See book for more details.

Next… high cortisol levels from the adrenals (generally due to psychological stress) has the body unwilling to surrender body fat stores as an energy source—it is a fight or flight survival mechanism (again for details, see book.) Staying soul balanced and poised is important here as well as adequate vitamin B5 and C, which the adrenals feed on.

Finally, iodine, fluoride, chlorine and bromide are all part of the halogen family—very similar on a molecular level. Because of this the thyroid receptors will take up any of the forms equally. The thyroid, critical to weight loss management, runs on iodine. If your diet is low in iodine (most in the West are) and high in chlorine (water/shower, etc) and fluoride (toothpaste) and bromide (most processed baked goods), you will have an underactive thyroid—not what you want. The thyroid needs to protected and fed properly for your best body.

When you understand how the body works it is easy to have it work for you. Proper nutrition, oxygenation and exercise, detoxification, etc. are critical to finding homeostasis and body balance. Remember that ‘life is in the blood’. Creating the environment for our bodies to work optimally and to be your very best is easy once the understanding comes.
