A Few Closing Thoughts…

My Love And Thanks

charles-1A Thought To Remember; the value of time, the success of perseverance, the pleasure of working, the dignity of simplicity, the worth of character, the power of kindness, the influence of example, the obligation of duty, the wisdom of economy, the virtue of patience, the improvement of talent, the joy of originating and the love of God. I may not forget.

Whatever your years, there is in every being’s heart the love of wonder, the undaunted challenge of events, the unfailing child-like appetite for what’s next and the joy of the game of life. You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt, as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear, as young as your hope, as old as your despair. In the central place of every heart there is a recording chamber… so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer and courage, so long are you young. When the wires are all down and your heart is covered with the snows of pessimism and cynicism, then and only then are you grown old.

In the presence of this place, surrounded by the all-pervading presence of God, my heart whispers; keep fresh before me my High Resolve, that in fair weather or foul, in good times or in tempests, in the days when the darkness and the foe are nameless or familiar, I may not forget.

Seeing God

charles-surf-fetishA little six year old girl was sitting at her desk drawing with her crayolas. Her mother came in and asked her what she was drawing. “I’m drawing a picture of God” was her reply. “You can’t do that” said the mother, ‘no one has ever seen God”. The little girl kept drawing and without ever looking up, said, “They will when I get through.”

Liberated From Fear

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that so frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are we not to be?charles (3)

You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the Glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
